FIP Bronze Houten 2026 – Belgians in the mix (Tuesday, March 3)
| Match | Schedule / court | To remember |
|---|---|---|
| N. Cecchi / X. Aue (NED) vs N. Braet / B. Coene (BEL) | 12:30 – Court 10 | A good start: start fast and avoid faults on the first volleys. |
| F. Vandelanotte / M. Torres-Jacobs (BEL) vs J. Lindmeyer / N. Merten (GER) | 12:30 pm – Court 7 | Typical European duel: the battle of the net and lobs should dictate the tempo. |
| A. Helali / A. Ben Jemia (TUN) vs M. Guerin / S. Robin (BEL) | Not before 14h00 – Court 8 | Watch out for the “not before” timing: stay hot despite the wait, then impose the construction. |
| T. Deschamps / M. De Peuter (BEL) vs S. Van Vendeloo (NED) / Y. De Jong (GBR) | Not before 2pm – Court 7 | Fast-reading match: while the Belgian pair lock the center, they simplify a lot. |
| T. Schadeck / T. Van Den Boschelle (BEL) vs E. Waterschoot / P. Swaerts (BEL) | Not before 2.00 pm – Court 10 | Belgian derby: familiar zones, familiar landmarks. Details (returns, first volleys) will make the difference. |
| L. Witkowski / E. Drathen (GER) vs T. De Vylder / T. Matthijssens (BEL) | Not before 3.30pm – Court 8 | Faced with a German pair, the challenge is to hold the diagonal and vary the heights at the net. |
| M. De Roose / G. Stas (BEL) vs A. Tur Checa / A. Leira Gavilán (ESP) | Not before 3.30pm – Court 7 | Spanish test: don’t get sucked into the tempo, work on lobs and patience. |
| N. Bazin / A. Valentin (BEL) vs M. Docampo Fuster / D. Docampo Fuster (ESP) | Not before 3.30pm – Court 10 | Spain again: priority to consistency and low-ball defense. |
Note: order of play and courts may be adjusted by the organization (delays, stringing together, court constraints).
To remember: FIP Bronze Houten 2026
The FIP Bronze in Houten (Netherlands), part of the CUPRA FIP Tour 2026 calendar, kicks off with a rare density on the Belgian side: no less than eight matches involving black-yellow-red players from Tuesday March 3, spread over courts 7, 8 and 10, with schedules mostly announced as “not before”. In this format, Belgium will have a high profile right from the qualifying rounds, with the immediate challenge of placing several pairs in the next round.
The schedule features a broad generation: Braet/Coene, Vandelanotte/Torres-Jacobs, Guerin/Robin, Deschamps/De Peuter, De Vylder/Matthijssens, De Roose/Stas, Bazin/Valentin, not forgetting the 100% Belgian Schadeck/VanDen Boschelle derby against Waterschoot/Swaerts, which is bound to be special when the players know each other.
Opposite them, the big match-up is decidedly international, with the Germans, a Tunisian pair and two tests against Spain, including Docampo Fuster and the Tur Checa/LeiraGavilán duo.
