Yanguas and Nieto reach their first Premier Padel final together
Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto will play their first Premier Padel final together this Sunday. The No. 5 seeds beat Gonza Alfonso and Tino Libaak 6-4, 7-6 in the semi-final after knocking out Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia in the quarter-finals. With the No. 1 seeds gone, Chingotto and Galán were the only top-four team left in the draw.
Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto booked their place by beating Íñigo Jofre and Jairo Bautista 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and three minutes. Premier Padel reports that they did not face a single break point. Chingotto finished with ten winners, including five smashes. The No. 2 seeds are chasing a seventh title this season.
After the semi-final, Yanguas spoke about reaching this first Premier Padel final with Nieto.
“The first final with Coki has arrived, and we’re going to try to win the title for him at home.”
In 2025, Yanguas and Nieto played twelve Premier Padel semi-finals without winning one. Their reunion in Madrid has now taken them into a final against Chingotto-Galán.
Premier Padel’s official account shared Yanguas and Nieto’s qualification for the final.
González and Josemaría recover from 0-5 in the deciding set
Bea González and Paula Josemaría reached the final against Claudia Fernández and Martina Calvo after trailing 0-5 in the third set. The No. 2 seeds saved three match points at 5-3, 40-0, then won seven consecutive games to complete a 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 victory.
González explained after the match what kept her in the contest.
“We were 5-0 down and all I felt was that I didn’t want to leave the court.”
Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea await them in the final after beating Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero 6-2, 6-4. The No. 1 seeds led 5-0 in the second set before Sánchez and Ustero closed to 5-4. Triay and Brea then took the final game to reach a fifth consecutive final.
González is targeting a third Madrid title after winning in 2023 with Brea and in 2025 with Fernández. The women’s final brings together the top two seeded teams after Josemaría and González survived three match points in their semi-final.
