Dual BOA® settings for changes of pace
According to HEAD (press release dated January 13, 2026), the BOA® Motion Pro 1.5 philosophy remains unchanged: to remain a padel shoe geared towards the modern game, where everything is decided by quick footwork and instant relaunch. The big change is in the tightening system, developed in conjunction with BOA: the BOA® Dual Dial Li2 is based on two knobs for separate adjustments in support and overall feel. The idea is to achieve a better heel lock, without “crushing” the forefoot, so as to maintain freedom on short strides and pivots.
This adjustment is accompanied by the PerformFit™ Wrap, presented as a progressive midfoot wrap. On the court, this is typically what can make the difference when exchanges lengthen: fewer internal micro-slips, more connection between the shoe and the ground, and a feeling of precision on footwork returns (salida de pared, bandeja returns, grid defense).
Stability and protection: HEAD strengthens version 1.5
On the track, lateral stresses are permanent: short acceleration, braking, then change direction. HEAD features Lateral Control+ reinforcement to secure footwork and limit torsion. The brand also adds more “pragmatic” elements for durability: Drift Defense protects areas exposed to friction (toes and inner forefoot), while Hybrasion+ aims to maintain grip without sacrificing resistance, particularly for players who “rasp” a lot when starting off or in controlled slides.
Comfort, ventilation and grip: the promise of 360° movement
In terms of feel, the Motion Pro 1.5 BOA® features a softer, more breathable upper thanks to a double-mesh Upper Mesh, and a reworked sock construction for a more natural feel. Underfoot, the DynaFoam midsole is designed to cushion impacts while remaining dynamic, a key point when stringing together low returns and explosive relaunches.
Last but not least, HEAD’s padel outsole has been developed in collaboration with Mondo, with a 360° grip and a ventilation system underneath. The brand refers to its Motion Tread as a sole design adapted to synthetic turf tracks, where traction and braking control are equally important.
To remember:
- Dual Li2 wheels for fine adjustments in heel support and overall comfort.
- Lateral reinforcements and abrasion protection to withstand repeated footwork.
- More breathable mesh upper, DynaFoam for drop shot cushioning, padel-oriented Motion Tread outsole.
Where to buy it
The Motion Pro 1.5 BOA® is detailed on the official HEAD data sheet and in certain distributors such as Decathlon; if you’re hesitating between two sizes, it’s best to try them out at the end of the day (with your feet a little “swollen”) with your match socks.
