A double padel event until February 22
It’s going to be a busy week for players from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles: two tournaments are being played in parallel until February 22, with a big match-up at Tour & Taxis (Brussels) and a more club-oriented option atOdrimont (Lasne). The common point: tempo, string together, and a real opportunity to test yourself in match conditions in the middle of winter.
To watch the tables, schedules and any adjustments, the official platform remains the reference: padel.tppwb.be. In this type of week, the logic is simple: the first matches count double, because there’s no time to “promote” between two invitations.
To remember:
- Aim for solidity from the very first match: clean return of serve, deep lob, control volley.
- Keep an eye on call-outs: a delay can change your warm-up routine.
- Choose your plan A (construction game) and your plan B (acceleration), before entering the court.
Tour & Taxis: Brussels’ indoors to accelerate the game
In Brussels, Tour & Taxis offers an indoor setting conducive to fast exchanges: ball skids, tempo rises, and defense must stay clean on the salida de pared. This is the kind of tournament where the transition to the net is worth its weight in gold: close the angle, hold the first volley and force the opponent to hit “on the promotion”.
The classic indoor trap? Confusing speed with haste. The teams that come off best are often those that set a long bandeja, use the lob as a placement weapon (and not as a reflex), then release at the right moment. The official tournament information sheet (tables, info, schedule) is here.
Odrimont: building, then managing the weekend
In Lasne, Odrimont offers a frame where patience can win big. The typical scenario: longer points, lob duels, and the need to vary (chiquita to the middle, drop shot when the opposing pair sticks to the net) to break the tempo. Here, “winning the single points” counts as much as hitting a winning shot.
And the week doesn’t end there: from February 20 to 22, several tournaments over x3 days make the calendar in Wallonia-Brussels even denser. The schedule includes La Bruyère (MD100/300/500, WD100/300), Tero Limelette (MD300/400/700, WD50/200), Andenne Arena (MD200) and Ciney (MD200/400/500, MX100). If you’re not sure, choose according to your goal (stringing together volume or aiming for a higher score) and check the details on the Odrimont sheet.
