The Spanish padel championship for regional teams set its top-division semi-finals in Valladolid on Friday 2 October. Madrid, the Canary Islands, the Basque Country and Catalonia advanced in the men’s draw, while Catalonia, Madrid, the Balearic Islands and Andalusia made up the women’s final four.

## Madrid, Canary Islands, Basque Country and Catalonia advance from the men’s quarter-finals

Madrid beat Andalusia 4-1, the Canary Islands defeated Galicia 4-1 and Catalonia eliminated Castile and León by the same score. The Basque Country needed the fifth match to beat the Balearic Islands 3-2. The [Spanish Padel Federation](https://www.padelfederacion.es/noticia.asp?Idnoticia=2949) therefore confirmed semi-finals of Madrid against the Canary Islands and the Basque Country against Catalonia.

The Balearic Islands, seeded No. 3, and Galicia, No. 4, both went out in the quarter-finals. The Basque Country eliminated the Balearic team, while the Canary Islands knocked out Galicia. Catalonia, the No. 1 seed, and second-seeded Madrid both won their quarter-finals 4-1.

The Canary Islands were back in the men’s top division after earning promotion in 2025, when they finished runners-up in the second division. Before the tournament, Diego Gil, president of the Canary Islands Padel Federation, described the progress made by both island teams.

> *“Having both our teams in the top division reflects the level padel has reached in the Canary Islands.”*

## The women’s top four seeds all reach the semi-finals

Catalonia needed the full tie to beat Castile and León 3-2. Madrid defeated the Basque Country 4-1, the Balearic Islands beat the Canary Islands 4-1 and Andalusia recorded the same score against Comunitat Valenciana.

Top-seeded Catalonia were due to face the No. 4 seeds from the Balearic Islands, while second-seeded Madrid were due to meet No. 3 Andalusia. All four leading women’s seeds had therefore reached the semi-finals scheduled for Saturday 3 October at Club Raqueta Valladolid.

## The top-division finals were scheduled for Sunday at Club Raqueta

The championship brings together 18 men’s teams and 17 women’s teams across the top and second divisions. The top-division finals were scheduled for Sunday 4 October at Club Raqueta Valladolid, at 10:15 for the women and 11:30 for the men.
