Thomas Leygue and Jesús Moya bowed out in the quarter-finals of the FIP Platinum Lyon. The French-Spanish pair lost 6-3, 6-4 to fourth seeds Momo González and Lucas Campagnolo at the Palais des Sports de Gerland.

The defeat ended a week highlighted by their 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 win over sixth seeds Edu Alonso and Aimar Goñi. That result sent Leygue and Moya into the quarter-finals after three tie-breaks and gave them another win against opponents ranked far higher.

## González and Campagnolo take control in straight sets

Momo González and Lucas Campagnolo won the quarter-final 6-3, 6-4. The Spanish-Brazilian pair, seeded fourth in Lyon, had entered the draw directly in the second round and came into the match with less time spent on court.

Leygue and Moya had already played two long matches. They first beat Miguel Lamperti and Octavio Álvarez 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 after saving a match point, then spent 2 hours 28 minutes on court against Alonso and Goñi. González and Campagnolo closed the quarter-final in two sets.

## The Alonso–Goñi win remains the highlight of their week

Leygue and Moya’s Lyon run will be remembered most for their round-of-16 victory. Alonso was ranked 17th in the world on the September 21 list and Goñi 32nd, while Leygue was 108th and Moya 143rd. Before the quarter-final, Leygue said after that win:

> *“It’s the first time I’ve beaten a top-20 player.”*

The result followed another strong week at the Paris Major, where Leygue and Moya reached the round of 16. In Lyon they went one step further by beating a seeded pair before losing to González and Campagnolo, listed by the tournament organisers as world No. 14 and No. 16 respectively.

González and Campagnolo advanced to the semi-finals, where they face Juanlu Esbrí and Íñigo Jofre, who eliminated Martín Di Nenno and Juan Tello in the quarter-finals.
