The scenario already had a slight taste of a “second chance”. Defeated on Tuesday in the last round of qualifying, Clément Geens and Dylan Guichard were finally entered into the main draw thanks to their lucky loser status. A rare opportunity… but one that came with a very tough draw from the start.

Score: 6/4 6/2 against Ruiz / Esbrí

For this first round of the main draw, the Franco-Belgian pair faced seed No. 6, Álex Ruiz / Juanlu Esbrí. The result: a defeat in straight sets, 6/4 6/2. The first set was close, with some truly interesting sequences, but the consistency and experience of the Spaniards ultimately made the difference.
