Clément Geens at the FIP Platinum Marseille 2026 with Dylan Guichard

What We Know About the FIP Platinum Ville de Marseille

The framework is already in place: the FIP Platinum Ville de Marseille takes place from February 2 to 8, 2026. Qualifying starts on February 2, the main draw on the 4th, and the final is scheduled for February 8.

The tournament is played at the Palais des Sports in Marseille. The official website announces an indoor week, with an organization designed to host a very high-level event, and qualifying scheduled at CAP7 Padel.

In the detailed schedule published by the FIP, we find a classic progression: first rounds in the middle of the week, quarterfinals on Friday, semifinals on Saturday, and finals on Sunday.

Clément Geens: An Announcement via Instagram, Awaiting Sporting Confirmations

Today’s information comes from the player himself: Clément Geens shared a visual on his story announcing him alongside Dylan Guichard in Marseille. It’s a clear “teasing,” but caution remains advised as long as the entry lists and draws are not definitively set.

What is certain, however, is Geens’ status on tour: the FIP ranks him world No. 92 on its ranking published on January 19, 2026, with 744 points displayed on his profile.

Why Marseille is a Good Fit for Geens

A FIP Platinum in France, in early February, checks several boxes for a player like Geens. Firstly, it’s a significant category: a “full” week, a high density of competition, and real exposure. Secondly, Marseille offers indoor conditions, often clearer for players who like to play with stable benchmarks (light, tempo, rebound).

Another concrete point: the FIP already publishes a schedule framework for the key days (semifinals and final), which illustrates a structured organization and a desire to give visibility to the tournament.

Geens and Guichard: A Pair That Already Has a History

Without rehashing the past, the Geens–Guichard pairing didn’t come out of nowhere. The two players have already shared the court at international events, and the FFT itself highlighted the duo during the Greenweez Paris Major.

Marseille can therefore play a simple role: to put this pair back in a strong context, facing a high-level field, with the goal of validating a dynamic. No need to make it a marketing “stunt”: a tournament like this primarily serves to gauge where one stands, and to adjust quickly.

The French Common Thread Behind Marseille

The interest of this announcement is also what it might herald next. As you recalled: Geens and Guichard are expected together for French events, particularly via the French Championship in interclub format (Nationale 1) where they are part of the same squad.

In this context, Marseille becomes a useful step: to test themselves in international conditions, create shared experience, and arrive at team competitions with more than just “two names on a sheet.” Interclub competitions are often won on management details (sequences, adaptation, clarity in tight moments). Having already played a week like Marseille together doesn’t guarantee anything, but it helps.
