The Babolat Padel World Cup started on 21 September 2026 with amateur qualifying run through Playtomic in eight countries. For six weeks, players in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands can earn points as they pursue a place on their national team. The final is scheduled at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca.
The press release sent to Actu Padel divides players into two categories. Viper Soft covers Playtomic levels 0 to 3. Viper is for players above level 3. The leading players in each category within each country are then due to form the national team that qualifies for Mallorca.
How to qualify through Playtomic over six weeks
Qualifying is based on Playtomic Open Matches. A player chooses a club and time slot in the app, then the platform completes the match with other participants. Every match earns points, with an additional reward for a win. The national ranking therefore depends on both matches played and results.
Hugo Lenoir, who works at Playtomic, said in a public post that registration is free and that qualifying runs from 21 September to 1 November. His post also sets out the two categories and the route to Mallorca.
The format follows the Babolat Padel World Series, which previously used seasonal competitions and continental finals. Babolat had announced a European final in Madrid on 7 February 2026 and an American final in Cancún on 14 February before a world final. The 2026 World Cup moves to eight national rankings before a shared final in Mallorca. Babolat explains the previous format here.
Javier Aguilar Gámez, a member of the Playtomic team who has described himself on LinkedIn as leading the project, said the aim was to build an amateur competition with no level restriction.
“Creating a new amateur competition concept that is open to everyone, with no level restrictions.”
The quotation comes from a public LinkedIn post by Javier Aguilar Gámez. His public profile lists him as working at Playtomic.
Final at the Rafa Nadal Academy from 20 to 22 November
The press release sets the final event for 20 to 22 November at the Rafa Nadal Academy. A post by Javier Aguilar Gámez mentions 21 November for the knockout phase, placing that competition day within the final weekend. Representatives of the eight countries will meet after national qualifying.
Meliá Hotels & Resorts is involved as Official Hotel Partner. The finalists are due to stay at Meliá Palma Marina during their time in Mallorca. Playtomic has also publicly confirmed Meliá and the Rafa Nadal Academy as partners in the Babolat Padel World Cup.
