The European qualifiers for the 2026 FIP World Cup end in Madrid on Saturday 26 September with four ties deciding the continent’s final places in Doha. In the men’s event, Great Britain–Germany joins Netherlands–Belgium. In the women’s event, Great Britain–Poland and Denmark–Germany will determine the last two European qualifiers.
The International Padel Federation scheduled the women’s ties from 9am, followed by the two men’s ties no earlier than 12pm. The team World Cup will be played in Doha from 2 to 7 November.
Great Britain–Germany after two very different routes
Great Britain beat Ukraine 3-0 on Friday through Loughlan/Harris, Medina Murphy/Patacho and Jones/Salisbury. The British side has not lost a single match in any team tie since the European qualifiers began.
Germany had to play a deciding third match against Denmark. With the tie level at 1-1, Böhnke/Merten secured the 2-1 win against Svendsen/Jensen. Germany therefore reaches the final round after a longer and tighter Friday session.
Great Britain captain John Leach had set the target before the tournament in comments published by the LTA.
“Our focus is on performing at our best and earning our place at the World Cup.”
A win over Germany would send Great Britain directly to Doha. The other men’s place will be decided between the Netherlands and Belgium.
Great Britain–Poland and Denmark–Germany in the women’s draw
Great Britain and Germany won Groups A and B and received byes into the final qualifying tie. Both teams therefore had no match on Friday.
Poland reached Great Britain by beating Romania 3-0. Pacocha/Kiszczyńska, Nowakowska/Górczyńska and Piórkowska/Rosolska won all three matches. Denmark eliminated Greece through victories by Alipieva/Haxen and Wiese/Skov. The Danish team has not lost a match in any tie played in Madrid.
The winners of Great Britain–Poland and Denmark–Germany will take the two remaining European women’s places at the World Cup.
Four European places decided on the same day
The European qualifying event runs at Padel G24 in Madrid from 22 to 26 September. It brings together 55 national teams across the men’s and women’s competitions, representing 29 countries. Four Doha places are awarded, two in each draw.
All four decisive ties will be broadcast on the FIP YouTube channel. After Madrid, the final global qualifying event will take place in Kuwait from 26 to 30 October, awarding one men’s and one women’s place to the Asia-Africa zones.
