Le Midi welcomes Belgium’s padel elite until Sunday
This Friday, August 28, the AFPadel Major Tour at Le Midi continues at 6:30 pm with the second MD1000 group-stage session. The official calendar confirms the event runs from August 27 to 30, 2026, with the circuit’s two categories: MD1000 and WD500. AFPadel presents the Major Tour as its elite competition and has announced a total prize purse of €22,800 for the 2026 season. Le Midi has five indoor courts, according to the club listing published by the federation.
The men’s opening phase began on Thursday evening, with the first groups starting at 6:30 pm. The MD1000 is now well underway at Le Midi, where matches will continue through to the weekend’s knockout rounds.
Saturday to qualify, Sunday to play for the titles
On Friday evening, the men continue their MD1000 campaign. On Saturday morning, the WD500 players take to the courts before the knockout rounds begin in the afternoon. Both draws will then be played through to their conclusion on Sunday.

Rossius and Radanovic, a wild card focused on the next generation
AFPadel has awarded a wild card to Elena Rossius and Tiana Radanovic for the women’s draw. The two young Belgian players will have the opportunity to test themselves at WD500 level in an event featuring some of the leading players on the national circuit.
The invitation also reflects their junior pathway. The official FIP profiles place Elena Rossius and Tiana Radanovic in the FIP Promises U14 ranking, with several international junior tournaments played in 2026. They were already competing together in Aachen in January and continued their season at several FIP Promises events in Belgium during the summer.
The pace changes as the knockout rounds approach
The Major Tour regulations provide for several group-stage formats depending on club capacity and the number of entries. In qualifying, a three-pair group is played over two sets with a super tie-break, while a four-pair group is played as a single set to nine games. In the final draw, the standard format is two sets won with a super tie-break as the third set. The men’s semifinals and both finals are played over three full sets.
The prize money also gives a concrete measure of what is at stake. Under the regulations, each MD1000 winner receives €500, while each finalist receives €250. In the women’s event, the WD500 winners receive €400 each and the finalists €200, subject to AFPadel’s conditions.
The previous stop on the circuit, at Parc 1348 in Louvain-la-Neuve, ended with victories for Roxane Lacroix and Linn Poels in the women’s event, followed by Jérémy Gala and Bram Coene in the men’s draw. After her title, Lacroix summed up one of the keys to this type of weekend:
We didn’t make too many mistakes. We tried not to rush.
Our report on the Parc 1348 finals looks back at that July event. Earlier in the season, the Ath stage had been cancelled because of the heatwave.
A DJ night on Saturday during the knockout rounds
From 5 pm, music will accompany the end of the day at the bar while the matches continue on court. Le Midi is located at Rue du Midi 9 in Petit-Rechain, within the Verviers municipality.
The full schedule and latest information are available on the official Major Tour page.
