Start with the site and the standards
A doubles padel court measures 10 m by 20 m under the International Padel Federation rules. For new facilities, the FIP also recommends a clear height of 8 m across the whole court, with no obstruction. For outdoor courts, it recommends a broadly north-south orientation, with adjustments possible depending on the site.
In France, the FFT requires foundations to be adapted to the ground and local constraints, notably after a soil study and according to the local wind zone. Its guide to building a padel court also states that project owners can refer to companies qualified by Qualisport padel or listed under the Plan Qualité Padel. This technical filter does not replace a comparison of quotations.
Before selecting a court model, ask for a written site assessment covering machinery access, drainage, flatness, wind exposure and building constraints for an indoor project.
Compare the price and the scope of the quotation
Costs vary widely depending on the configuration. As an indication, Constructeur Padel lists 2026 ranges of about €25,000 to €60,000 for an outdoor court, €50,000 to €120,000 for a semi-covered solution and €100,000 to €250,000 for a covered or indoor project. These commercial ranges do not replace a site-specific quotation.
Two similar totals can cover very different services. A usable quotation should separate civil works and slab, structure, glass, turf, lighting, transport, lifting, assembly, connections and commissioning. Warranties, maintenance and any exclusions should be set out clearly.
To frame the project, discussions with a padel court builder should start with the site, number of courts, intended use and schedule. Then request several offers based on an identical specification so that you compare the same items rather than a single headline price.
Project follow-up matters as well. In a customer testimonial published by Constructeur Padel for a municipal two-court project in Cossé-le-Vivien, Joseph Louapre, a former mayor of the town, highlights this point:

Check references and after-sales support
An attractive panoramic-court photo tells you nothing about long-term durability or workmanship. Ask for references comparable with your project: outdoor or indoor, one or several courts, a similar climate, a recent job and an older installation. When possible, contact an operator directly.
A venue such as Hangar 24 in Nantes, which operates six indoor courts, shows why a multi-court project must also account for circulation, height, lighting and the uses around the courts. The sports installation has to work with the rest of the venue, not merely comply with playing dimensions.
Before committing, require three documents: the site study, the detailed quotation and a document setting out handover, warranties and maintenance. The best builder is the one that answers these three points clearly and reduces uncertainty before work begins.
