Brussels Premier Padel 2026: a draw that already guarantees a Belgian in the second round
Brussels Premier Padel didn’t wait for the quarterfinals to produce its first clash. Scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 during Belgian Night, the duel between Clément Geens / Dylan Guichard and Isaac Huysveld / Miguel Lamperti already provides a rare certainty: a Belgian will see the second round of the main draw. This is a first in the history of the tournament: in the first four editions, no Belgian player had ever managed to win a match in the main draw in Brussels. In a tournament taking place from April 19 to 26 at the Tour & Taxis Maritime Station, with five Belgian wild cards in all, this big match-up encapsulates everything Brussels is all about this week: level, proximity and real local color. To follow the complete event frame, the official schedule and the FIP tournament page already set the essential benchmarks.
This first round is not just symbolic. The draw pits the country’s two strongest men’s invitations against each other, with on the one hand a Geens/Guichard pair built around the logic of immediate performance, and on the other a Huysveld/Lamperti combination designed to accelerate emotion and exposure. The scenario is even a little improbable, since the two Belgian wild cards find themselves pitted against each other as soon as they enter the mix. In our article on the nine Belgians taking part, we could already see that the local presence was no longer just a matter of decoration. The table confirms this as directly as possible.
Beyond the big match-up, a real test of Belgian padel levels
On the track, the opposition promises a sharp contrast. Geens arrives with the status of Belgian number 1 and a credible dynamic alongside Guichard, winners together of a FIP Bronze in the Netherlands in March. Huysveld, on the other hand, is in the Belgian top flight behind Geens, and offers himself a huge springboard with Lamperti, a legend on the circuit, a player of tempo, variation and reading. This mix of up-and-coming youth and top-level experience explains why this wild card immediately caught the attention of the Brussels public.
The winners won’t just inherit a sentimental bonus. In this part of the draw, the next step leads to an XXL challenge, with the prospect of facing Franco Stupaczuk and Miguel Yanguas, placed just behind in the draw. If the logic of the schedule is respected, this second round could be played as early as Thursday, giving the winner of this Belgian duel another prestigious evening in Brussels. In other words, this Belgian-French-Argentinian duel will quickly show whether Belgian padel can convert the enthusiasm in the hall into real tactical resistance: return quality, lob management, speed of transition to the net and the ability to hold exchanges when the vibora or the bandeja raise the pressure.
And it’s not just about the match. In the qualifying rounds, Nathan Lambrechts and Florian Vandelanotte scored the first Belgian victory in the history of the tournament in Brussels. This detail changes the reading of the 2026 edition: the event is no longer just a showcase for the locals, it becomes a space where the Belgian public finally begins to see its players exist, win and carry an atmosphere. The presence of Lamperti, a major figure on the circuit, also adds an obvious emotional dimension: if he contract extensions the adventure with Huysveld, the atmosphere could well take another step up a notch in the next round. On Tuesday evening, Geens and Huysveld will be playing for their pair, for their fans, but also for the rest of a week that already has a strong padel flavour.
To remember:
- The Brussels Premier Padel draw guarantees a Belgian in the second round of the main draw.
- Geens/Guichard arrive with more automatisms; Huysveld/Lamperti door the emotional charge of the tournament.
