The Belgian junior team is heading to Porto for the 2026 FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup, with a clear goal: to experience the event as a team, not just as a competition. Behind Padel Belgium’s motto, “one team, one dream,” lies, above all, a generation moving forward together, driven by the desire to represent Belgium and compete against the best European nations.
The FIP competition will take place in Porto, Portugal, from June 27 to July 4, 2026. For the young Belgian players, the stakes go beyond just the results. It’s also about experiencing the intensity of an international tournament, finding their footing, learning to handle the pressure, and building a true team identity.
A Belgian team looking to make history
Padel Belgium kicked things off with a series of videos featuring its young players. The goal is simple: to showcase the emotions, ambitions, and mindset behind the national team. In these videos, we meet Nanou and Lenno, two players who epitomize the Belgian approach: improving, learning, supporting one another, and making the most of this experience to grow.
Nanou highlights the team’s strength, the friendship among the players, and their desire to compete against the top junior padel nations, including Spain. Lenno places greater emphasis on learning, improvement, and the opportunity to experience this adventure alongside other young Belgian talents.
This announcement gives the selection process a more human touch. We’re not just talking about a list of players sent to Porto, but about a team that’s coming together—with its own ambitions, bonds, and desire to represent Belgian padel.
Clear Goals Before You Set Out
In the latest episode of the series “Road to the Junior Euro Padel Cup 2026,” Coach Nick is already looking ahead to the competition. After spending several days watching the players, their mindset, and their preparation, the turning point has now come to switch into tournament mode.
The draw hasn’t been announced yet, but the goals are clear: to help the girls qualify, to aim for the top 8 with both teams, and to push every player to give their best.
Beyond the final ranking, the coach emphasizes team spirit above all else. If the team stays united, if there is confirmation of their collective energy, and if they perform at their best on the court, the experience will already be a success. And in the background, there’s a slightly bigger dream: to secure a spot in the top 4.
The girls will head to Porto before the boys, with their first qualification match scheduled for Saturday. The boys will then join the team on Sunday. It’s a gradual build of momentum for the Belgian team, which wants to experience this adventure together.
Porto: A Real Test for Belgium’s Up-and-Comers
A FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup is an excellent breakthrough. It allows us to gauge the gap between us and countries where youth development programs are already highly structured, but also to identify what works within a team: attitude, adaptability, teamwork, and consistency over several days of competition.
For Belgium, Porto will therefore be a sporting test, but also a test of maturity. The Belgian juniors will have to string together matches, adapt to different opponents, manage their off moments, and stay united in a demanding international setting.
The goal isn’t to promise a specific result before the competition even begins. Rather, the aim is to return from Porto with experience, statement matches under our belt, a better understanding of the very highest level of junior competition, and—why not?—a few upsets on the court.
“Let’s go Belgium”: More Than Just a Slogan
Padel Belgium gave a clear recap: “Our Belgian junior national team is on its way to the FIP European Championships. Follow our journey over the next few days through stories, reels, and match updates. Let’s go, Belgium!”
This sentence captures the spirit of the moment well. Belgium isn’t just going to Porto to participate. It’s going to learn, to make its mark, to showcase itself, and to raise the profile of a generation that could play a significant role in the coming years.
In a country where padel continues to grow rapidly, developing a structured system for elite youth play is an essential step. Porto could become an important starting point: one where a Belgian team learns together and aims to gradually carve out a place for itself on the European junior scene.
