Padel Pop Cergy has opened in an unexpected location: on the rooftop of the Les 3 Fontaines shopping centre. The new venue features five outdoor courts, including four doubles courts and one singles court, operating with a fully autonomous system.
Access is managed through the Anybuddy booking platform. Once a reservation is confirmed, players receive a personal access code to enter the site, while the lighting switches on automatically at the start of the session.
A club without a reception desk, but not without support
The concept aims to remove the usual barriers: no on-site check-in, no mandatory reception staff and no administrative opening hours. For players without their own equipment, racket rental is available via Padel Cube, alongside ball and drink vending machines.
Padel Pop also states that customer support is available every day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. This is a key element of the autonomous model: convenience only works if assistance is readily available whenever an access, lighting or booking issue arises.
Urban rooftops as a new opportunity for sports facilities
The project required complex logistics, with the court structures, glass walls and artificial turf lifted by crane more than twenty metres above ground. The development reflects a growing trend: creating sports facilities on already-developed urban spaces.
Led by Charlotte de Taffin, the project is part of a broader ambition. Padel Pop aims to build around fifty courts over the next five years, making padel more accessible in areas where available land is becoming increasingly scarce.
