The Padel School: history, padel coaching, YouTube and academies

The Padel School is no longer just a tutorial channel followed by English-speaking players. The project led by brothers Sandy and Tom Farquharson has become an education business combining free content, an online coaching membership, coach education, club support, school programmes, partner academies, a podcast and on-court events. Its story also reflects a wider shift in padel: demand is no longer only about finding a court, but also about finding learning systems that can support players at very different levels. Here is how The Padel School developed, what the platform offers today and the role YouTube and social media play in its model.

The Padel School at a glance: founders, offers and audience

The Padel School is a British padel coaching and education platform led by brothers Sandy and Tom Farquharson. Its current activity serves players, coaches, clubs, academies and schools.

  • For players: online courses, personalised pathways, video feedback, a private community and monthly challenges.
  • For coaches: online certification, methodology, drills, progressions and a final assessment.
  • For clubs: a Club Partner subscription or a TPS Branded Academy partnership.
  • For schools: introductory programmes without a permanent court and junior courses for venues with court access.
  • Media: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and a podcast launched in 2020.
  • As of 22 August 2026: 218,000 YouTube subscribers and 109.6 million total views according to Social Blade.

The player membership is currently listed at £80 per quarter or £300 per year, with a seven-day trial. Coach certification is listed at £399. The official pages to check for current information are the main website, pricing page, courses, podcast and social media hub.

From a digital school to an education business

To understand The Padel School, it helps to start with a distinction Sandy Farquharson made himself in 2026. Content attracts the audience, but he does not describe content as the final purpose of the project.

In reality, we’re an education business that creates content.

That sentence captures the current model. Free videos are the entry point. Behind them sit learning pathways, a private community, video feedback, coach education and club partnerships. On its website, The Padel School states a simple mission: help every player who picks up a racket improve their game. The British company The Padel School Limited is active and was incorporated on 2 November 2020. Its registered activities include sports education, operation of sports facilities and sport-club activities.

The roots of the project, from early videos to the platform

The timeline is best documented by Sandy Farquharson himself. In a retrospective published at the end of 2024, he said he played his first padel match in 2011. From 2012, he set out to learn from established players and coaches. He then played World Padel Tour events in 2013 and represented Great Britain. In 2014, he worked in the United Arab Emirates as technical adviser during the creation of the national padel association. The following year, he was involved in organising the World Padel Tour Dubai Masters.

The media side started on a small scale. Sandy dates his first padel videos for local students to 2016. He says The Padel School YouTube and Instagram pages were launched in 2018. Between 2019 and 2021, the content reached its first millions of views and the community grew to around 50,000 followers across platforms, according to his own account. In 2021, he moved back to the United Kingdom and wrote Level 1 and Level 2 padel coach education for the LTA.

2022 brought an organisational shift. Tom Farquharson joined the business and, according to Sandy, systemised its operations. In 2023, the brothers reworked their social-media strategy. Sandy reported an average of five to six million views per month across platforms and 350,000 combined followers at that point. That same year, they launched the educational platform at thepadelschool.com. In 2024, they published The Padel Player’s Guide and reached 500,000 combined followers, again according to Sandy’s retrospective.

The next move took the method off the screen. In January 2025, The Padel School announced its first academy at Replay Club in Florida. A second site was then announced at Coalition Padel in South Africa. The network also expanded in the United Kingdom with Padel Maidenhead. The official academy page checked in August 2026 currently highlights Coalition Padel in Midrand and Padel Maidenhead.

Sandy and Tom Farquharson, two brothers shaped by coaching

The brand story is closely tied to the two brothers. The official podcast describes them as former competitive tennis players who became padel coaches. Sandy has the profile most directly connected to on-court methodology. His background combines playing, coaching, coach education and analysis of the professional game. The Padel School currently presents him as the Team GB Men’s Coach.

Tom plays a central role in structuring the company and its commercial development. Their public roles are not reduced to a rigid split, but the club material shows that the current offer combines teaching expertise with a repeatable operating model. That is what allows The Padel School to apply the same underlying system to an individual player, a coach, a club or a school.

The online coaching platform at the centre of the player offer

The membership is the most complete product for individual players. The Padel School does not simply stack tutorials in a library. The site guides players into pathways and offers a personalised roadmap tool based on a level assessment. Three routes are currently highlighted: Court Ready, Habit Builder and Padel Competitor.

The library is organised by level and objective. The course page lists 12 courses and 134 lessons in the Basic Roadmap, 14 courses and 150 lessons at intermediate level, and 8 courses and 92 lessons at advanced level. It also includes 6 courses and 46 fitness lessons, 11 courses and 129 member-challenge lessons, 18 match-analysis videos, 6 courses and 45 videos in Shot Fixer, and a 14-day fast-track programme.

The most distinctive feature is feedback. Members can record a stroke, upload it to the private community and receive advice from the coaching team. The idea is to turn a video library into a more individualised form of support. The platform also includes monthly challenges, webinars, live shows, equipment reviews, member-only content and partner discounts.

At the time of our check, membership is listed at £80 per quarter or £300 per year, with a crossed-out annual reference price of £360. A seven-day free trial is offered. These prices can change and should be checked before subscribing.

YouTube, the free showcase that built a global audience

YouTube remains the clearest place to see the method in action. The Padel School publishes technical and tactical videos, breakdowns of common errors, match situations, equipment content and material linked to the professional game. The channel mixes short formats with longer explanatory videos.

On 22 August 2026, Social Blade’s public data showed 218,000 subscribers, 2,502 videos and about 109.6 million total views. The YouTube account itself dates from October 2016, which predates the launch of The Padel School pages that Sandy places in 2018. The dates are not necessarily inconsistent: an account can exist before it takes on its current editorial identity.

One video illustrates the channel’s educational role. Padel Rules You NEED To Know, published on 18 April 2022, has more than 930,000 views in the YouTube data we checked. Sandy and Tom explain the basic rules of padel and also outline why they built the project. It answers a simple beginner query while introducing a broader learning offer.

The recent publishing schedule shows that the channel has not become an archive. In August 2026, The Padel School was still publishing on tactics, the forehand, professional patterns and major events. Free content solves a specific problem first, while the website offers a structured pathway to players who want to go further.

Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and X extend the same system

The Padel School officially centralises its Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and X accounts under the @thepadelschool brand through its Linktree page. The treatment changes by network: short clips and strokes on Instagram or TikTok, longer videos on YouTube, company-development announcements and coaching-business topics on LinkedIn, and community distribution on the other channels.

Social counters move every day. As a current reference, Social Blade showed 254,271 Instagram followers on 22 August 2026. Across all platforms, Sandy had announced 500,000 combined followers in 2024. The project’s reach therefore cannot be reduced to one channel.

This multi-format presence has two functions. It distributes coaching advice without a subscription and it acts as an acquisition channel for the platform, courses, events and business-to-business services. The brand also directs users to free resources, the podcast and educational products from its official hub.

The podcast, books and resources beyond video

The Padel School Podcast has existed since 2020. Its official page showed 182 episodes when we checked in August 2026. Sandy and Tom discuss technique, tactics, mindset, training, club development and the professional game. Recent episodes about Premier Padel London also show how the podcast connects player education with analysis of the tour.

Written material became more prominent with The Padel Player’s Guide, published in 2024. The brand also sells a Drill Book containing more than 75 drills, with instructions, diagrams, video breakdowns and downloadable PDFs. It is currently listed at £95. Alongside paid products, The Padel School offers free guides, including a resource on choosing equipment.

This spread of formats reduces dependence on a single network. A player can arrive through a short video, listen to an episode, download a resource, buy a book or join the membership. Education remains the connecting thread.

Events, clinics and padel holidays bring coaching back on court

The Padel School also organises training days, clinics, corporate events and padel holidays. Its Mission page says the team works with clubs and organisations in different countries for junior and adult players. The holiday format combines coaching with travel to established padel destinations.

The Events page checked on 23 August 2026 needs to be read carefully. It still lists several trips dated 2025 and April 2026, and the clinic section states “No Upcoming Clinics”. Presenting those dates as future events would therefore be misleading. The service exists, but the calendar should be checked directly before booking.

Coach education and clubs, the professional side of The Padel School

One of the clearest areas of expansion is coach education. The Padel School sells a 100% online coach certification built by Sandy Farquharson. The offer page lists more than 20 hours of structured video, six modules, a drills and progressions library, a final assessment and one year of access to the drill toolkit. The listed price is £399. According to the platform’s FAQ, most coaches complete the course in three to four weeks while working two to three hours per week.

The programme covers the TPS methodology, player diagnosis, technical fundamentals, tactical layers, progression design, session planning and group coaching. The commercial logic is straightforward: training coaches around one common method makes it possible to deploy that method through partner clubs.

For clubs, two levels are offered. Club Partner gives a coaching team online access to content, adult and junior programmes, session plans, progressions and certifications. TPS Branded Academy adds a brand licence, a listing in the academy directory, in-person certification, consulting from Sandy and Tom, marketing support and contractually defined territory exclusivity.

Academies turn a digital audience into a physical network

The launch at Replay Club in Florida in January 2025 was presented by The Padel School as its first academy. Coalition Padel in Johannesburg was then described by Sandy as the second. The brand also opened its first UK academy at Padel Maidenhead.

The official Global Academies page currently displays only Coalition Padel in Midrand and Padel Maidenhead. We do not infer the current status of Replay Club from that list because the page does not explain it. The distinction matters between a historical milestone and a current commercial directory.

The academy methodology is presented around three areas: technical accuracy, tactical awareness and a player-development pathway. Sandy Farquharson is credited with establishing that framework. Partner clubs then receive coach education, programme design, promotion and consulting.

Schools open another market for the TPS method

In 2026, The Padel School also offers programmes for schools and physical-education teachers in Great Britain. One option introduces padel without a permanent court, using temporary equipment, a six-week lesson plan and online training for school staff. A second option is designed for organisations with court access, with 12-week junior programmes for ages five to twelve, five-day camps providing 20 hours on court, and one-day session plans.

This offer shows how far the project has moved from being a tutorial channel. The same educational foundation is adapted for several customers: player, coach, club, academy and school. For a sports-education company, that structure creates multiple revenue streams while keeping one brand and one method.

What The Padel School model says about modern padel coaching

The Padel School benefited from a genuine gap in English-language padel. For a long time, structured technical content in English was more limited than Spanish-language material. The project built an audience by answering concrete player problems, then turned that audience into a range of education products.

Its main strength is not the number of videos in isolation. It is the continuity between free content, guided programmes, video correction and training the people who teach on court. YouTube attracts, the platform organises, the coach corrects and the academy applies. That chain is what separates The Padel School from a specialist content creator.

There are limits to keep in mind. A video membership does not automatically replace a strong coach standing on court. Remote feedback depends on the quality of the footage submitted, and the TPS certification belongs to its own network even though the company says a growing number of independent clubs recognise it. Prices, partners and academies can change quickly. Anyone considering a purchase or a qualification should check the offer at the point of commitment.

By August 2026, the direction is clear. The Padel School started by making padel coaching more accessible in English. It is now trying to standardise a teaching method across different formats and locations. The next useful measure will not be views alone. It will be whether its programmes, certified coaches and academies can deliver the same teaching quality as the network moves further away from the founding duo.
