AJPP 2000 Venado Tuerto: the Argentine professional tournament runs from August 5 to 9 at Atlas Padel Center. The winners receive 2,000 ranking points. Qualifying ends on Friday before the main draw begins, with the quarter-finals on Saturday and the final scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. local time.
Friday moves from qualifying into the main draw
The qualifying finals are scheduled for 12 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. on Friday. The first main-draw matches will then start at 6 p.m., with play scheduled through 9:45 p.m.
Friday evening’s matches include Pichifilo/Albornoz against Gutierrez/Altamirano, Adaro/Mandrile against Lavagnoli/Arietti, and Yob/Hurtado against Rocha/Rocha. The official AJPP tracker remains the reference for schedule changes and draw updates.
Saturday and Sunday narrow the field
The round of 16 starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Pinto/Maier, Peiron/Gaitan, Caluva/Solenghi, Mayerna/Angelini Candiano, Funes/Egea, Vivas Machado/Achetta and Alvarez/Leite are among the pairs already placed in that stage of the draw. The quarter-finals begin at 6 p.m., with four time slots running through 9:45 p.m.
Sunday will feature the final three matches. The semi-finals are scheduled for 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m., followed by the final at 8 p.m. For Atlas Padel Center, the week is also a chance to establish Venado Tuerto as a stop on the national circuit. Marcelo Morelli, one of the club officials, summed up that objective at the tournament presentation:
“We want to put Venado on this padel circuit.”
What is an AJPP 2000 and how many points does it award?
AJPP stands for Asociación de Jugadores Profesionales de Pádel. The circuit runs professional tournaments in Argentina and feeds its ranking. Here, “2000” refers to the number of points awarded to the champions. In Venado Tuerto, the official scale awards 2,000 points to the winners, 1,500 to the runners-up and 1,000 to the semi-finalists. Quarter-finalists earn 500, round-of-16 teams 250 and first-round main-draw teams 125.
The weekend schedule is set: round of 16 and quarter-finals on Saturday, then semi-finals and the final on Sunday. After Friday’s qualifying, every win will move a pair forward in both the draw and the AJPP ranking. The title will be decided Sunday night at Atlas.
