The FIP Gold Perugia, officially the FIP Gold Mediolanum Padel Cup, starts its main draw on Thursday, October 1 at the Fastweb Padel Arena. Carolina Orsi and Giulia Dal Pozzo are seeded No. 2 and No. 3 with their partners, while three new men’s pairings make their debut.
Orsi-Llaguno and Dal Pozzo-Rodriguez sit inside the top three seeds
Carolina Orsi and Patty Llaguno are the No. 2 seeds behind Veronica Virseda and Martina Fassio. Giulia Dal Pozzo and Nuria Rodriguez are seeded No. 3. Rodriguez returns to Perugia after winning the 2025 FIP Silver, while Dal Pozzo reached the Italy Major semi-finals in Rome in June.
Orsi, ranked No. 30 by the FIP on September 28, reached the Paris Major 2026 quarter-finals with Llaguno, her first Major quarter-final. Dal Pozzo is ranked No. 26 and had already reached the Rome semi-finals with Rodriguez.
Orsi and Dal Pozzo also represented Italy at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, where both players returned with a medal. Italian player Álvaro Montiel, a member of the same delegation, tagged both women in his August 30 post about the competition.
Jimena Velasco and Raquel Eugenio are the No. 4 seeds after winning the FIP Gold São Paulo on September 20. After the final, Eugenio explained to the FIP what had decided their match:
“The small details made the difference.”
Velasco and Eugenio can add 150 FIP ranking points in Perugia, ten days after their title in Brazil.
Three new pairs enter the men’s draw
Jairo Bautista and Lucas Bergamini make their debut together as the No. 1 seeds. Iñigo Jofre and Juanlu Esbri are No. 3, while Javi Garrido and Juani De Pascual occupy the sixth seed. The official draw lists Alex Ruiz and Javi Garcia at No. 2, Jose Jimenez and Alex Arroyo at No. 4, then Alex Chozas and Sanyo Gutierrez at No. 5.
