The FIP Promises Middelkerke II returns to the Belgian coast from 20 to 23 August 2026. The event will be held at Golden Point, which already hosted a first stop this season from 26 February to 1 March. This second date confirms Middelkerke’s place on the international junior calendar.
Qualifying on 20 August, main draw from the 21st
The official FIP event page schedules qualifying on Thursday 20 August if required. The main draw will start on Friday 21 August, followed by second rounds and quarter-finals on Saturday. Semi-finals and finals are scheduled for Sunday 23 August.
The announced format provides for a 32-pair main draw, with 26 direct acceptances, four qualifiers and two wild cards. The qualifying draw can also accommodate 32 pairs. Registration is now closed. The entry fee was set at 25 euros per player and per category.
The venue lists eight match courts, four indoor and four outdoor, plus two practice courts. If the weather allows, four outdoor courts will be used. Otherwise, play will move to the four indoor courts. In February, the FIP page for the first tournament listed four match courts and two practice courts.
A second 2026 stop for the next generation
Middelkerke had already hosted a FIP Promises event from 26 February to 1 March. FIP reported more than 100 pairs at Golden Point, with boys’ and girls’ draws. Actu Padel covered that first stop and had already announced in March that a second tournament would return to Middelkerke in August.
The FIP Promises circuit is reserved for junior age groups from U12 to U18. For Belgian padel, the value goes beyond the number of matches. Local players can face international pairs without leaving the country, while gaining ranking points and international experience.
Steve Huysveld, again listed by FIP as tournament director, had already summed up that value in the local press in March 2025, in a statement translated from Dutch:
At this type of tournament, we can see the progress of our players. They can test themselves against players their own age, including opponents from abroad.
The next marker is 20 August. If qualifying is required, it will open the weekend. Otherwise, the main draw will provide the sporting start on Friday 21 at Golden Point, Westendelaan 96 in Middelkerke.
