A generation already representing France
All twelve champions crowned in Cabriès were included in the French squads for the 2026 European Junior Championships. Robert, Guy de Chamisso, Perrot, Huard de la Marre, Bessière and Pottier were selected in the boys’ teams, while Isaac, Chrétien Meal, Charpentier, Debroy, Laforge and Le Roux were selected among the girls.
The boys’ U18 title also underlines the continued progress of Jérémy Robert and Olivier Guy de Chamisso, who are already competing on the international circuit. In May, Jérémy Garcia, national coach and captain of the French junior teams, described Guy de Chamisso in L’Équipe:
Olivier is one of our leaders, showing strong progress and a very talented profile.
Occitanie completes the honours list in the U12 event
The event in Cabriès also included the French U12 Interleague Championship. The final was decided in the third match, with Occitanie defeating the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur league 2-1.
2026 French Junior Championships calendar: the U12 Interleague competition took place from 15 to 17 August, the U14 event from 17 to 19 August, the U16 event from 19 to 21 August and the U18 event from 21 to 23 August in Cabriès.
