Miniminter turned a day of padel into a programme lasting almost four hours. The format of The Ultimate YouTuber Padel Tournament is easy to follow on screen: sixteen players, eight pairs, a straight-knockout bracket and matches played over one set. The first team to six games advances.
The tournament takes place at Rocket Padel CUPRA Arena in London. The sporting result is only part of the event. The broadcast raises money for M7 Education, a British charity that funds educational experiences for schools with a high proportion of pupils eligible for pupil premium support.
Sixteen creators, eight pairs and an immediate knockout bracket
The field brings together several familiar names from the British YouTube and streaming scene. There are no long group stages: every match removes one pair from the tournament. That keeps the competition easy to read, including for viewers who do not follow padel every week.
- W2S and VizuaLizah
- AB and NYK Chazza
- Calfreezy and Heinz Baines
- Tays and Zerkaa
- Angry Ginge and TBJZL
- AnEsonGib and Pieface
- REEV and George Clarkey
- JCC and Behzinga
The quarter-finals put W2S and Viz against AB and Chazza, Calfreezy and Heinz against Tays and Zerkaa, Angry Ginge and TBJZL against AnEsonGib and Pieface, then REEV and George Clarkey against JCC and Behzinga. W2S and Viz, Calfreezy and Heinz, Angry Ginge and TBJZL, plus JCC and Behzinga reach the semi-finals.
W2S and Viz take the shortest route to the final
W2S and Viz begin by eliminating AB and Chazza. Their semi-final then puts them against Calfreezy and Heinz, who had beaten Tays and Zerkaa in the previous round. W2S and Viz book a place in the final without any change to the format: one set and no second chance.
On the other side of the bracket, Angry Ginge and TBJZL first eliminate AnEsonGib and Pieface. They then meet Behzinga and JCC in the semi-final. That second win sets up a final between two teams that had already played two pressure matches during the day.
A 6-3 final with many games reaching deuce
The last match pits W2S and Viz against Angry Ginge and TBJZL. At 5-3, W2S and Viz have the chance to close the tournament. They take the next game and win 6-3.
The score does not fully reflect the length of the individual games. In the closing minutes of the live stream, the commentators point out that most games reached deuce. W2S therefore retains his status as a winner of a Miniminter padel tournament, this time with Viz beside him. For Viz, the title comes after three wins in the same short format.
Padel fits a creator live stream particularly well
The video makes the strengths of the format fairly clear. Doubles keeps four personalities in the shot, the glass extends rallies that would be over in other racket sports and the compact court makes reactions immediately audible. Viewers can quickly see who is serving, who leads and which point could change the match, even without knowing every tactical detail.
The playing level also varies from pair to pair. That helps the entertainment because the video does not depend on pretending to be a professional circuit event. Some players already know the main positioning patterns, others are still searching for their spacing, and several rallies are decided by instinct. The padel remains recognisable without being presented as a technical exhibition.
The result also adds continuity to Miniminter’s project. An earlier final had already featured W2S at the centre of the tournament. This edition expands the field while keeping the same idea: turn an amateur tournament into a complete video event, with a bracket, commentary, on-screen scoring and a charity fundraiser.
M7 Education at the centre of the fundraising
The tournament’s official JustGiving page shows £11,408 raised from 288 supporters at the time of writing. The campaign remains open until 14 September 2026. M7 Education says the money helps British state schools fund trips, workshops and educational experiences.
Miniminter summed up the expected effect of the fundraiser during the live stream:
We’ve got over 500 kids are going to go on trips because of that JustGiving page, not including the Twitch donations.
The tournament is therefore more than a sequence of creator matches. The competition provides the structure, the video brings their communities together and the fundraiser gives the event a measurable goal. For readers who want to revisit every participant, the YouTube channels of all sixteen players are linked directly in the pair list above.
