FIP Gold San Luis 2026 opens a new CUPRA FIP Tour week in Mexico this Monday, August 17. The event is played outdoors at Advantage Padel Club in San Luis Potosí and ends on Saturday, August 22.
Qualifying opens the tournament this Monday
August 17 is devoted to qualifying. The official event page sets the final for Saturday, August 22. As FIP documents currently show different indications for the exact main-draw start date, the detailed schedule should be checked on the official order of play.
The event offers €60,000 in prize money, while the winners will earn 150 FIP ranking points. Gold sits directly below FIP Platinum in the CUPRA FIP Tour hierarchy. For 2026, the International Padel Federation announced more than 200 combined tournaments and a threefold increase in FIP Gold events.
The official schedule and draws are available on the FIP Gold San Luis page. The season overview is also published by the International Padel Federation.
Álex Ruiz returns to Mexico as the top seed
In the men’s draw, Álex Ruiz and Franco Dal Bianco are the number one seeds. Alex Chozas and Juan Ignacio Rubini are seeded second, ahead of Alonso Rodriguez and Juan Ignacio De Pascual. Ruiz already knows this Mexican stop well: he won the FIP Gold Potosí title in 2025 with Agustín Torre.
The Spanish left-hander has also won a FIP Gold this season, in Ponta Delgada with Juanlu Esbri. After that March title, he summed up their progress in the FIP’s official report:
“We improved little by little throughout the tournament. Every day we felt better.”
Advantage Padel Club, the host venue, announced on Instagram that FIP Gold San Luis 2026 will take place from August 17 to 22.
A French pair is also in the main draw. Julien Biron and Thomas Basso face the number eight seeds, Pablo Sanchez Vicente and Ignacio Archieri, in the first round. They will need to beat a seeded team to reach the round of 16.
Four seeded teams in the women’s draw
The women’s draw features 16 pairs. Marta Borrero and Julia Polo are the top seeds, ahead of Lucia Martinez and Lucia Peralta. Brittany Dubins and Camila Ramme are seeded third, while Ainize Santamaria and Aitana Garcia are fourth.
San Luis follows the CUPRA FIP Tour events played the previous week in Bali, Barcelona and Mol. This week, FIP ranking points are again on offer in several countries, including Mexico, where qualifying starts on Monday.
