Italian padel in 2026 can be read through four precise indicators. In the world ranking published in early August, Carolina Orsi remains Italy’s leading woman at No. 30 with 2,174 points, but Giulia Dal Pozzo follows at No. 31 with 2,160. The gap is down to 14 points. At the same time, Italy has nine women in the top 100, Marco Cassetta is back among the leading 100 men, and the country has a very dense international calendar.
Dal Pozzo is 14 points behind Orsi
The gap is more than a single ranking move. In Rome in June, Dal Pozzo became the first Italian woman to reach a Major semifinal. The FITP presents that breakthrough as the result of rapid progress after she switched from tennis to full-time padel.
Her coach Carlo Conti summed up that path by stressing the value of combining disciplines.
“She is probably the best example of a multidisciplinary pathway.”
That momentum now puts Dal Pozzo within immediate reach of Orsi. With 2,160 points against 2,174, one result can change the Italian order at the next ranking update.
Nine Italian women in the top 100, Cassetta returns on the men’s side
The Orsi-Dal Pozzo duel almost hides another figure. The FITP now reports nine Italian women inside the world top 100. That depth matters because Italy no longer relies on a single player to feature in the international hierarchy.
On the men’s side, Marco Cassetta has regained his place in the top 100. Partnering Fabian Oviedo, he won two titles in two weeks, first in Lelystad and then at the FIP Silver in Jersey. The FIP confirmed the back-to-back run. His official profile now lists him at world No. 92 with 696 points.
Italy’s calendar extends the momentum
The sporting progress can also be seen in the schedule. The next FIP event in Italy is the FIP Silver Porto Sant’Elpidio, scheduled for August 17 to 24, 2026. Milano P1 follows from October 12 to 18.
The 2026 FIP calendar lists many Italian stops across several competition levels. That continuity gives local players more opportunities to earn points without having to leave the country every week.
Rankings, titles and the calendar point in the same direction. Italy is no longer limited to hosting events. It is placing more women at the highest level and again has a man inside the top 100, while Dal Pozzo moves closer to the national No. 1 position.
