Long associated with rackets and technical equipment, Pádel Nuestro is widening its playing field. The Spanish retailer is strengthening its physical network, refining the in-store experience and turning padel sportswear into a growth engine in its own right.
In practical terms, the strategy is no longer to sell only a product, but an entire universe: clothing, footwear, advice, equipment testing, events and community. This shift from specialist distributor to a destination brand explains its current offensive.
From a Murcia pure player to an international network
The story began in Alcantarilla, in the Murcia region. Available sources differ slightly on the exact founding year — 2009 according to FashionUnited and 2010 on the company’s official website — but agree on the starting point: an operation initially built around the online sale of padel equipment.
The move into physical retail then accelerated. In January 2014, a store opened in San Sebastián de los Reyes, near Madrid. Two years later, Madeira hosted the first international location. The network subsequently expanded across Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, several Latin American markets and Dubai. By the end of 2021, FashionUnited counted 70 stores.
Growth also came with ownership changes: a takeover by Backspin Capital Investments in 2021, the integration of Time2Padel and Padelmanía, and then a majority investment by Ergon Capital Partners — now Apheon — in 2022. Behind those moves, the direction remained clear: gain scale, consolidate e-commerce and give stores a larger role.
Barcelona, a showcase for experience-led retail
Opened in late May 2026 at 257 Rosselló Street, the Barcelona flagship marks a change in vocabulary. Across 300 square metres and two floors, the store does more than display rackets, shoes and apparel. It includes a test zone, specialist advice and modular spaces for product launches or player appearances.
Technical products remain central in padel, but purchasing is now extended by visual identity, communities and everyday use. Pádel Nuestro is therefore trying to sell a look as much as a racket, bringing equipment closer to sports lifestyle.
France as the next accelerator
After Barcelona, the retailer also opened its first UK store in Manchester. FashionUnited refers to a network of 68 stores in 18 countries in 2026, while other company communications use different scopes. The figures therefore need to be read according to their date and the definition of the network.
In France, the path is already visible: Colombiers welcomed a first store in 2023, followed by Lattes and then Monteux in 2026. Further locations are being considered. The bet is to move closer to players as clubs, tournaments and recreational participation broaden the potential customer base.
The real challenge, however, will be less about opening stores than about giving each location a consistent identity. In a market where the same major brands circulate between retailers, the advantage will come from advice, testing, events and an apparel offer capable of moving beyond the court.
